Plett Rail Line #1999 has been entirely scratch built by Les Plett.   Les began the project in 1999.   It is a 1/10 scale model of a U.S.R.A. 4-8-2 Light Mountain.   It is built almost entirely of kiln dried furniture oak.  The wood is finished with a black dye specifically selected for this locomotive to highlight the beauty of the wood grain, with 3 clear coats of tung oil to preserve it.
